   Prevention & Protection

   • I get Kinrix or Quadracel to boost protection from diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, and polio. One shot covers all four.
   • I know either is a booster for ages 4–6 years, before the seventh birthday. It is not for the infant series.
   • I avoid it after a severe DTaP or polio shot allergy. This includes severe Kinrix, Quadracel, neomycin, or polymyxin B allergy.
   • I list medicines, vitamins, herbs, and allergies. I report fever, weak immunity, bleeding issues, or past shot reactions.
