   • I use the Nexplanon etonogestrel implant to prevent pregnancy. It is one small rod under my upper-arm skin.
   • I know it stops egg release and works for up to 5 years under the current U.S. label. I do not need a daily dose.
   • I report allergies, blood clots, liver disease, breast cancer, unexplained bleeding, or a possible pregnancy.
   • I share all drugs, herbs, and vitamins, and any allergy to numbing drugs or skin cleaners before placement.
